Blix began with a tiny tavern on Dorp Street and a love for a story — Karen Blixen's Out of Africa. Today it's grown into a small collection of stays, a flagship tavern, and a range of handcrafted drinks, all carrying the same thread: warmth, adventure, and an unmistakable sense of place.
OUR STORY
Blix takes its name from Karen Blixen, the Danish writer whose years on a Kenyan coffee farm became one of the twentieth century's most loved memoirs. Every Blix room, bottle, and bar stool is a small tribute to that story — and to the people who lived it.
THE WORLD OF BLIX
A collection of intimate stays — from a boutique guesthouse in the heart of Stellenbosch to a private self-catering villa on the Garden Route, with more on the way in Botswana, France, and Austria.
The smallest bar in Stellenbosch, and the place where all of this began. Craft beer, East African coffee, hand-rolled cigars, and an Out of Africa atmosphere you won't find anywhere else on Dorp Street.
